PURPOSE: To enhance the efficiency of empty can crashing operation, by intercepting the slipping out of empty can by the function of a mobile press plate and the empty can holder being fixed on the press plate which is actuated by the driving force of a motor being started by an empty can passing along the tilted passage.

CONSTITUTION: An empty can 6 thrown in from the inlet port 4, slides down the slope 7 and makes the switch S1 ON state, which thru the relay starts the motor M. Revolution of the motor M actuates the rotation of the mobile press plate 17 thru the crank disc 21. By the rotation of the plate 17, the pointed tip 19' of the can holder 19 bites firmly the empty can 6 which comes down from the inlet port as shown in the figure, and the bitten can 6 is pressed flat by the approx. 3 rotations of the press plate 17, and falls down thru the press plates 17 and 17'. In accordance with the reciprocal motion of the U piece 22, moved by the action of the disc 21, a large rotatable piece being connected by the chain 23, moves vertically, which makes the can intercepting piece protrude or retreat within the sloped passage 7 and intercept the feeding of empty cans appropriately.
