Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overall access various video post preparing environments at an optional time in the case of applying an off-line editing operation to a user by controlling the reproduction of a recording/reproducing device by operating a pointing device included in a computer in a graphic display state.
SOLUTION: A user interfaces with the computer 30 by using a computer monitor 35, a mouse 33 and a computer keyboard 31. The computer 30 controls six laser video disk units 50. The user moves a mouse 33, selects an icon corresponding to a module and instructs the execution of a software application module. Namely when a cursor displayed on an icon is moved by using the mouse, the icon is emphasized. The user moves a button on the mouse 33 and selects the emphasized icon. Consequently the user can access a required software module at an optional stage of off-line editing operation.
