PURPOSE: To save the trouble of rough adjustment to an inspection device newly set in the similar manufacturing line by reading a set data necessary for judging operation from an automatic external appearance inspection device under operation, and transferring and storing the read set data to the inspection device.

CONSTITUTION: An inspection device 2 detects the arrival of a subject 01 to be inspected carried by a conveyor 02 by a timing sensor 1, and reads the image of the subject 01 through a camera 6 to judge the quality. The inspection device 2 has an installing hole 3 for a memory card 4. When the installation of the card 4 is detected, the blank time of judging operation is utilized to start to store a set of prescribed set data (form of window area, binarizing threshold and the like) for image judgment set in itself in the card 4, and when the storing is ended, this is displayed on a monitor TV 2A.
