To provide an automatic feeder automatically feeding a feed by a suitable amount corresponding to each of a multiple number of small animals.

This automatic feeder for the small animals is provided by shutting a hopper 1 housing the feed 9 at a joining part with a feeding tube 10 by a feeding valve 7, installing a feeding hole 8 for feeding the feed 9 at the feeding valve 7 which is joined with a spindle 6 of a stepping motor 5 (e.g. driven by an exclusive IC, etc.) and also joining the feeding pipe 10 with a feed-receiving part 11, The feed-receiving part 11 is formed as one unit with an introducing groove 27, and a color sensor 16, ring magnet 17 and transparent ring 18 are installed at the boundary of the feed-receiving part 11 and introducing groove 27. Opening and closing lids 12a, 12b opening to left and right are installed at the upper part of the receiving part, and the perpendicular bottom surface part of the opening and closing lids 12a, 12b form racks 13a, 13b.
