Abstract:
PURPOSE: To eliminate necessity of manual operation and prevent deflection of the following tools, by mounting drill, tap, dies etc. to the tail spindle of a general lathe and feeding the tool automatically.
CONSTITUTION: The round rod 13 of a center drill holder 12 installed on a cutting edge table 16 is put in a long hole provided on a cylindrical portion 2 for guide of a drill socket and the rear hole of the drill socket (both holes are not shown in the figure), and drilling or tapping work is started with automatical lateral feed of a lathe 19 with proper rotating number of main shaft and feeding speed, thus machining can be made without taking deflection into consideration. The index No.14 represents the center drill.
