PURPOSE: To automatically remove flash from an object to be processed by a method wherein a shape of the manually clamped object to be processed is detected, said shape is memorized and said memorized information is utilized for processing.

CONSTITUTION: An object W to be processed is set on a clamp table and a pilot sensor is manually operated to perform the flash removing work. Said maunal operation is performed by properly moving the motors 3, 6, 8 forwardly and reversely, while the movement of a sensor P is memorized by a memory circuit 24. As the positional relation between a grind stone 13 and the work to be processed W is memorized by the memory circuit 24, the motors 3, 6, 8 are driven forwardly and reversely according to said memory, the grind stone 13 is transferred in accordance with the memorized information to automatically remove the flash from the object W to be processed by said grind stone 13.
