Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an automatic focusing device capable of being focused stably with every major object under any image pickup condition even when any lens is mounted onto an interchangeable lens system video camera.
CONSTITUTION: This automatic focusing device is provided with an AF signal processing circuit 113 extracting focus signal from an image pickup signal equivalent to a signal within a focus detection area, a normalizing program 132 normalizing an output of the AF signal processing circuit 113, and a lens microcomputer 116 deciding the drive direction and the speed of a focus lens based on the normalized focus signal, the AF signal processing circuit 113 and the normalized program are provided to the camera and the lens microcomputer 116 is arranged in the lens unit, and the output of the AF signal processing circuit 113 is given from the camera side to the lens unit to drive the focus lens in the automatic focusing device.
