To increase operability in frame exchange and accelerate unmanned operation of an embroidery machine by automatically exchanging an embroidery frame by utilizing a frame transferring mechanism.

This automatic frame exchange-type embroidery machine has an unembroidered stocker 19 and an embroidered stoker 21 separately at right and left sides of a machine head 4 on a table of the embroidery machine and plural embroidery frames 17 are stocked in these stokers 19 and 21. Before beginning an embroidery operation, an embroidery frame 17 before the embroidering is taken out from inside the nuembroidered stocker 19 by widely frame-transferring a transferring frame 10 from a position of the machine head 4 to the respective X-axis and Y-axis directions by using a frame transferring mechanism 9. Then, the taken out embroidery frame 17 is automatically carried into a position below the machine head 4 and the embroidery operation is begun by the machine head, etc. When the embroidery operation is finished, the embroidery frame 17 after the embroidering is automatically carried toward the embroidered stocker 21 by the frame transferring mechanism 9 and the embroidered frame 17 after the embroidering is stocked in the embroidered stocker 21.
