To provide comfortable and clean residential surrounding by automatically gathering garbage from each door of an apartment house to reduce the work required to get the garbage out.

The automatic garbage gathering device is provided with garbage housing boxes 2 provided in each door of the apartment house to separately house the garbage by type classified based on a predetermined standard, conveying devices for conveying the garbage housing boxes between each door and a garbage gathering/managing center 9 (for example a first belt conveyor 3, an elevator 4, a second belt conveyor and a third belt conveyor 6), a loading/unloading device for loading/unloading the garbage housing boxes onto/from the conveying devices, and a holding device for detachably holding the garbage housing boxes 2 in relation to the conveying devices.
