PURPOSE: To make the setting of a system as well as to dispense with even monitoring by an operator, by detecting the form of a work projection part and an adjacent linear part at both sides of the projection part in an accurate manner, controlling a grinder three-dimensionally, and automatically following the work projection part.
CONSTITUTION: A travel truck 3 shiftable in the longitudinal direction, a traversing block 7 shiftable crosswise to this truck and a lifting block 10 shiftable up and down to the former are slingingly supported on a weld bead 2 linearly extending on a horizontal plane in each forward tilting attitude in the forward direction of the travel truck 3. And, there are provided with a milling cutter 15 whose projection describes an elliptic orbit, a detector 24 detecting a position and form of the welded bead 2 and controller operating travel of the milling cutter 15 with the detecting signal and controlling the traversing block 7 and the lifting block 10. And, the milling cutting 15 is three-dimensionally controlled in an accurate manner, following the weld bead 2 automatically. Therefore, setting of the milling cutter 15 is made easy and simple and, what is more, monitoring by an operator also can be made unnecessary.
