PURPOSE: To obtain transparent ice automatically by a method wherein ice in an ice making pan is grown by cooling body, then, grown ice is separated from the cooling body and the ice making pan while the separated ice is reserved after separating water from the ice.
CONSTITUTION: Ice in respective ice making units of an ice making pan 1, installed in the defined chambers in a plurality of ice making units in a room of 0°/c or higher in the main body 3 of a refrigerator is grown by cooling bodies 25. Next, the grown ice is separated from the cooling bodies 25 and the ice making pan 1 by a heater 9, then, water is separated from the ice, separated by a heater 29 and is reserved in an ice reserving means 61. In this case, the ice making pan, having a temperature higher than 0°C (0°C-10°C), is contacted with water and the surface temperature of the cooling bodies 25 is reduced to a minus temperature (-1°C--30°C) to grow the ice. According to this method, transparent ice can be produced automatically without circulating water or using much amount of water.
