PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic ice making machine which, when oscillation of a water tray stops between an ice making posture and an ice separating posture, can detect it quickly, and therefore, which can prevent damage by quickly stopping a posture switching mechanism of the water tray.SOLUTION: A posture detection mechanism of a water tray includes: non-contact type detection means 51; and a mobile body 52 for reciprocating according to the drive of the posture switching mechanism of the water tray. A first detected part 63 is provided at one end part of a detected region 62 of the mobile body 52, and a second detected part 64 is provided at the other end part of the detected region 62. Between both detected parts 63, 64 in the detected region 62, a first intermediate detected part 65 and a second intermediate detected part 66 are provided alternately. When the water tray is in an ice making posture, the first detected part 63 faces the detection means 51, and when the water tray is in an ice separating posture, the second detected part 64 faces the detection means 51, and while the posture of the water tray is being switching-operated, both intermediate detected parts 65, 66 pass the detection means 51 alternately.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
