PURPOSE: To improve a using convenience of the titled device, by arranging such that the supply of gas is started upon a container for boiling foodstuff etc., being placed on the pan table of gas range, whereas the supply of gas is stopped upon the removal of container.

CONSTITUTION: A movable table 2 is placed on the return spring 3 of gas table body 1. While the movable table 2, a gas opening/closing valve 4 and a gas ignition device 5 are arranged to operate in unison, and therefore the lowering movement of movable table 2 causes the valve 4 to open and the ignition device 5 to ignite the gas, the rising movement of movable table 2 higher than the spring 3 entails the interlocking closure of valve 4 for interrupting the supply of gas and extinguishing the combustion. That is, a pan table 6 is lowered by gravity upon a container for a boiling foodstuff etc., being placed thereon, and the valve 4 is caused to open for supplying the gas to be ignited by means of the device 5. Then, when the container is removed from the table 6 after the foodstuff has been boiled, etc., the table 2 is raised upwardly by means of a spring 3 for closing the valve 4 to stop the supply of gas. In this manner, combustion is automatically extinguished.
