Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic tilting vehicle that includes a swinging type vehicle tilting apparatus, and that, when an abnormality such as bending deformation of a tie-rod occurs, determines that the vehicle tilting apparatus has become abnormal.SOLUTION: An automatic tilting vehicle (10) includes right and left wheels (12R and 12L) rotatively borne by carriers (16R and 16L), a vehicle tilting apparatus (18), and a control unit (20). The vehicle tilting apparatus includes a swinging member (26) that swings about a swinging axis line (24), an actuator (28) that allows the swinging member to swing, a pair of tie-rods (30R and 30L) coupled to the swinging member and carriers so that the tie-rods can pivot. The control unit controls the actuator so that an inclination of a vehicle comes to a target inclination. When the relationship between the swinging angular speed of the swinging member and the inclination angular speed of the vehicle exceeds a predesignated permissible range (S110 to S150), the control unit determines that the vehicle tilting apparatus is abnormal (S160).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
