PURPOSE: To guide automatically a U-pipe without mis-setting to the rollers of a positioning device by providing guides each having a funnel-shaped lower side to the roller inlet side of the positioning device.
CONSTITUTION: A positioning device 1 is provided with rollers 15, 16 which grip a U-pipe 11 and moves the pipe 11 to a desired upper, lower, right or left position by NC control. When an inserting carriage 2 travels on rails 13 toward the device 1, the pipe 11 advances. Guides 7, 8 are constructed into a funnel shape in order to prevent the pipe 11 from moving to the right and left and disengaging from the rollers 15, 16. A guide 9 is made to the construction which prevents the U-pipe from deflecting by gravity and deviating to the lower side from a guide roller 22.
