To provide an automatic inspection apparatus for an electronic control unit, automatically inspecting whether the electronic control unit appropriately executes a process which should be executed on a control branch point.
A branch condition of the branch point which is an object to be inspected is stored in a PC 20. An operation pattern is specified, which is used for an ECU 50 so as to execute a process in accordance with the branch condition, and a signal corresponding to the operation pattern is supplied from the PC 20 to an engine model 14. An HILS system 10 executes a simulation based on the operation pattern inputted to the engine model 14. A calculation value of the ECU 50 during the simulation is inputted by the PC 20, and furthermore, a calculation value of the engine model 14 in the HILS system 10 is inputted by the PC 20. In the PC 20, the inspection of the process on the branch point which is executed by the ECU 50, is carried out based on the inputted calculation values.
