PURPOSE: To improve production capacity of a copier by making plural precollation copy sets of plural copy jobs from plural sets of documents in a precollation copier with a recirculating document handler.

CONSTITUTION: A copier 10 makes a double-sided or single-sided precollation copy set by transferring an original document offered by a recirculating document handier(RDH) 20 on various copy paper sheets. The copy paper sheets are selectively fed from paper feeding trays 47, 47a and a large capacity paper feeder H. The copy paper sheets are sent to a transfer station 48 through a passage 64, and there, a toner image is transferred to the first surface of the paper sheets from a photoreceptor belt 12. Next, the copy paper sheets are carried to and fixed by a roller fixing device 49, and go round a corner passage after passing through a curl removing device 50. At this time, the image turns upward. If a turning gate 56 exists in a lower position, the paper sheets are sent into an output passage 57 without being reversed to be advanced to a finishing device F.
