To efficiently connect lots of lines in a short time by providing a robot that moves between plural matrix switchboard units to insert/withdraw a connection pin to/from each through hole at cross points of a wiring pattern array.
Each matrix switch board unit 104 designed to be stacked in a frame 100 vertically includes plural matrix switch boards 106. In each switch board 106, two sets of wiring pattern arrays are formed on a front side and rear side respectively with electric insulation and in crossing, a through hole is made to the cross point and the patterns are connected by inserting a connection pin to the through hole. A robot 102 is provided on a side face of the frame 100 and moves to a position of a desired unit 104 by an elevator section 102c, and its arm section 102b and its head section 102a slide to insert the connection pin into a desired through hole.
