To provide an automatic marking method and a system therefor permitting to improve an efficiency of marking work by automating marking by performing character recognition of character information filled in a prescribed space on a form and giving a score, and also to provide an automatic marking method and a system therefor permitting automate marking without being restricted by formats of questions and answers.
Character information written in allotted spaces on a form is picked up by an image pickup means, and the character information filled in each blank space is character-recognized based on the character pickup data. Correction is judged by collating the recognized character data in each space with a reference data pre-stored correspondingly to each space, and a total score can be calculated by summing up each score in the space pre-stored correspondingly to the space judged as correct.
