Abstract:

PURPOSE: To carry out the control of a rapidly automated needle-suture assembly and packaging system by sorting a plurality of needles toward arbitrary direction and orienting each needle needed in the automatic process performed in initial predetermined position.
CONSTITUTION: Needles are sorted and unified with a needle-sorting station 100, and the individual surgical needles are further oriented to accurate directions and then supplied respectively to each of multiaxial grippers carried by a rotary swaging dial assembly indexed by the station 100. The rotary swaging dial 150 rotates anticlockwise in the direction of arrow A, each needle is indexed to automatic swaging station 200 and making suture passing through the needles to perform sewing thus swaging automatically. Next, the rotary swaging dial 150 further rotates to index equipped needles to the automatic tension test station 300. After the requirements of minimum and/or fracture tension test are confirmed to be satisfied, the equipped needles are indexed to discharge station 600.
