Abstract:
To provide an improved method for filling a prescription.SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: receiving a prescription to be filled by a pharmacy management system with an electronic processor of the pharmacy management system; identifying one or more bulk containers that contain medications to fill the prescription with a pre-counter; counting, using the pre-counter, medications from the one or more bulk containers to fill the prescription; packaging the medications counted with the pre-counter by using a packaging unit of an automatic packager; capturing one or more images of the medications counted by the pre-counter; and verifying whether the medications are correctly packaged by using the automatic packager on the basis of the one or more images of the medications.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15
