The middle paper 3 turning up operation is continued until fixed times lapse since the medium detecting sensor 18 has detected the middle paper 3. Then, when the stepping motor 16 is ceased to permit a pair of the transportation rollers 10 to rotate for carrying the passbook in the direction of arrow B, the turned up middle paper 3 is brought into the contact part 21 and fallen in the turning over side.
