PURPOSE: To form a paper feeder in small size and improve reliability of paper feed, in the automatic paper feeder for a copying machine and the like, by arranging conveyer driven rollers under pressure contact to conveyer driving rollers and rotatably arranging said driven rollers to the shaft of a feed roller in a separator unit.

CONSTITUTION: A feed roller 16, formed by a friction member, and conveyer driven rollers 18 are rotatably arranged to a shaft 20 respectively through a one-way clutch 17 and bearings 19. Conveyer driving rollers 26, lightly adapted to the feed roller 16 by a spring and the like and driven by a motor 21, are contacted under pressure to the conveyer driven rollers 18. In this way, a sheet of paper, separated by the action of a separating roller 25, is fed by the feed roller 16 to between the conveyer rollers 18, 26 and conveyed. In this constitution, a number of part items can be reduced to simplify constitution, while separating and conveying points are approximately placed, then occurrence of a jam and the like can be prevented to perform a feed of paper in high reliability.
