To automatically display a face image of a patient near a radiographic image, when displaying the radiographic image in a digital panoramic X-ray apparatus or the like, to store the image inside a patient information database, inside a treatment information database or in an electronic medical card or the like along with a patient ID, to fetch it according to a using purpose, and to store the fetched information in a DICOM format.

The system for automatically storing the face image of a patient includes a radiographic apparatus, a camera provided in an apparatus body of the radiographic apparatus at a position facing the face of the patient, a server connected to the radiographic apparatus and a receipt computer and a computer in an examination room connected to the server. The face image acquired by the camera in the preceding stage of radiography is automatically stored in the server in association with an ID given to the patient. Also, the face image related to the ID of the patient and other data are called, the patient information is allocated to a tag as attribute information, and the face image of the patient is preserved in the DICOM format and is called through a communication means as needed.
