To provide an automatic penetration test machine excellent in safety for preventing the fall of an elevating base.

The automatic penetration test machine 1 includes: the elevating base 3 capable of ascending and descending along a support; a penetration rod 4 which is held by a chuck 5 provided in the elevating base 3; a drive means 8 for ascending/descending which is used for the operation of ascending/descending of the elevating base 3; a transfer shaft 12 for transferring the drive to the elevating base 3; a first one-way clutch 16 which is supported on the transfer shaft 12 so as to transfer the drive of the driving means 8 in only the direction of ascending the elevating base 3; a rotary member 15 which is interposed between the first one-way clutch 16 and the driving means 8 so as to rotationally transfer the rotary drive of the drive means 8 to the one-way clutch 16; and a second one-way clutch 18 which is rotatably supported on the transfer shaft 12 following the rotation of the rotary member 15, and rotated integrally with the rotary member 15 when a clutch action is lost due to damage to the first one-way clutch 16.
