PURPOSE: To provide the automatic phoneme description generating device for Japanese voice recognition which makes the preparation for a pronounciation dictionary easy by automatically preparing the pronounciation of words.
CONSTITUTION: A storage means 12 storing the HIRAGANA phoneme correspondence list with one or more HIRAGANAs (including HIRAGANA such as double consonants and contracted sounds to represent the sound which is not used independently) and the corresponding phoneme description, an input means 10 inputting words which are written in HIRAGANA (cursive form of Japanese syllabary writing), and a phoneme description generation means 11 providing the corresponding phoneme description of the HIRAGANA of the word inputted by the input means 10 while referring to the HIRAGANA phoneme correspondence list are provided.
