PURPOSE: To obtain the picture quality with good balance of intensity secured between the low and high bands by giving the control to the picture quality according to the voltage difference between the low and high band parts of the video signal.
CONSTITUTION: The video signal is applied to picture quality control circuit 1 as well as to synchronous gate 2. Gate 2 changes the synchronous part into the mean DC level of the video signal, and this output is applied to high pass filter 3 and low pass filter 4. And the amplitude is detected by amplitude detector circuits 5 and 6 at the low and high bond parts each. The output of circuits 5 and 6 are applied to differential amplifier 7 to detect the difference voltage between the low and high band parts, and thus picture quality control circuit 1 is controlled with the difference voltage.
