Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit occurrence of unnecessarily printed sheet to a minimum limit at the time of switching a plate cylinder to be used when a rotary press having a plurality of printing units is continuously operated to be printed with different printing contents without stopping the press.
SOLUTION: The rotary press has a plurality of printing units. The rotary press comprises a printing managing unit 8 for executing a first calculation for subtracting the effective number of prints from the necessary number of prints of the printing units during operation, and a second calculation for subtracting the number of the prints of the unit during operation while a waiting printing unit becomes operable, and outputting a first signal if the second calculation result is '0' or less, or a second signal if the first calculation result is '0' or less; a master controller 1 receiving the first signal and the second signal for outputting a control telegram for accelerating to a predetermined operating speed to a slave controller 2 of the waiting printing unit by the first signal or receiving the second signal to output a control telegram for decelerating/stopping to the slave controller of the printing unit during operation; and an operation controller 9 for receiving the second signal to output an changing signal to an ink supply means and a print/non-print state of a printing cylinder of the printing unit during operation and stand-by.
