PURPOSE: To supply molten metal continuously at a fixed rate into a casting mold by so tilting and controlling a vessel that the molten metal is in constant contact with an electromagnetic conveyor.
CONSTITUTION: First, an electromagnetic conveyor 2 is kept unoperated so that the level of molten metal 8 makes contact to the electromagnetic conveyor 2. Next, electric power is supplied to the electromagnetic conveyor 2 to generate a moving magnetic field toward a pouring port 3a. Then, the molten steel 8 is led diagonally upward along refractory wall 2b and is conveyed to the pouring port 3a, from which it begins to pour into a casting mold 9. The amount of the gradually decreasing molten metal 8 is detected with a load cell 7 to foresee the angle of the molten metal level, thence a hydraulic cylinder 5 is operated to tilt the pouring device to the foreseen angle, whereby the molten metal level is defined to the point P and pouring of the molten metal at a fixed rate into the casting mold 9 being continuously fed is accomplished.
