To solve the problem that a burden is imposed on a manager and high level knowledge is required for a manual operation or using a template when grouping processes relevant to an actual task, in a performance monitoring system for monitoring the processes by group.
On the basis of operation information of a process operating on a monitored device, access information, and information on inter-process communication in a preset period, the relevancy between the process and a file and relevancy between the processes are digitized, and calculated as relevancy. The process whose relevancy is low is excluded based on the relevancy, and processes in the monitored device are automatically grouped. Furthermore, the processes which performs communication across the monitored devices are grouped based on the relevancy. Also, as for a threshold for the monitoring items, the threshold is automatically created from the operation information, and each monitoring item is automatically set.
