Abstract:
PURPOSE: To automate profiling of a weld line in TIG welding, to eliminate the need for monitoring by a welder and to reduce the cost of welding work.
CONSTITUTION: The automatic profile TIG welding equipment is provided with an axis 13 of rotation provided rotatably round the axial center in a TIG welding torch 7 mounted via automatic slides in the vertical and longitudinal directions on a traveling carriage and a tungsten electrode 8 fitted eccentrically from the axial center on the tip of this axis 13 of rotation. In addition, a sleeve 17 for detecting the position showing the longitudinal position and the lengthwise position of the tungsten electrode 8 fitted externally on the base end of the axis 13 of rotation, a laser beam sensor 18 in opposition to this sleeve 17 for detecting the position and an automatic controller which controls the automatic slides based on an arc voltage value at the electrode position detected by this laser beam sensor 18 are provided.
