To provide an automatic sample changer for NMR system which can prevent turntable from becoming an enormous size and readily add samples during operation.

The automatic sample changer has, at least one sample position on a circular turntable, with samples arranged circumferentially, is cut out to figure the turntable as horseshoe shape to vertically-laminate a plurality of these horseshoe turntable and configure them so as to be independently-revolved, while arranging the cutouts of any remaining turntable other than the sample-mounted one vertically aligned with the same direction as direction where the sample is placed on the sample-mounted turntable, when selecting and picking up the sample from optional turntable. Vertical space produced by these arranged cutouts is vertically moved by a transfer means consisting of an actuator or a manipulator so as to transfer the sample from bottom up. Then this sample carried upward is laterally conveyed by another manipulator and carried to the position directly above a vertical hole made on a superconductive magnet to be thrown into the vertical hole.
