PURPOSE: To certainly feed recording sheets having different width in a sheet feeding/recording device, which is equipped with a feed roller and separator pawl only on a single side of sheet in order to reduce the number of parts and to construct in a small size.
CONSTITUTION: Recording sheets 24 stacked on a base 9 are fed by feed rollers 1, 1' fixed to a shaft 2 and are separated one by one using a separator pawl 5. Accordingly it is no more needed to move the feed rollers or separator pawl in compliance with the width of the recording sheets in use. Therein the feed rollers 1, 1' shall be arranged so that the transporting force of the roller 1' is greater than that of the other 1, which should enable well balanced feeding of sheets 24 even through they encounter a resistance given by the separator pawl 5. Thus the sheet feeding can be conducted certainly.
