Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent constitutional parts from being uselessly worn and improve comfortable driving and safety, by deciding the condition of a gradient by a gradient meter provided in a car and controlling the speed of the car not to be automatically changed by the opening of an accelerator. CONSTITUTION:A selector sensor detects a selector position set by a driver, and a required degree of acceleration intended by the driver is detected by an accelerator opening sensor. Further a car speed sensor detects a car speed and a gradient sensor GRDM detects the gradient of a car. Placing the selector of an automatic speed changer in a position D (drive range), if the car is started and accelerated on an ascending slope, an automatic speed change control part CONT decides a set position of the selector, and if the position is in the range D, it is decided whether or not the next gradient is existing. Then if a gradient is existing, the condition of the gradient is decided by a result observing the condition for a fixed time. If the gradient is decided to be continued further with a small accelerator opening and applying brake operation unless it is a stopped condition, the condition is recognized such that an accelerator pedal is temporarily released to adjust a speed, and switching of a speed change gear is stopped.
