PURPOSE: To prevent a stool cover from being closed in the course of using it by closing the stool cover at a prescribed time after an output of a pyroelectric sensor is eliminated.
CONSTITUTION: When a person enters into a toilet room, a difference of charge is generated in a crystal of a pyroelectric sensor 6, a pyroelectric current flows only for a short time, and a controller 30 decides that a person enters into the room and opens a stool cover 3 by driving a driving motor 11 of the stool cover 3 in the opening direction. As long as a person is in the toilet room, it is regarded as a state that a person does not move but is not continued for a prescribed time from the viewpoint of human engineering, and when a person moves, a signal is outputted again from the pyroelectric sensor 6, and count is started by resetting a timer. When the output is not detected, whether the time (t) elapses or not is decided, and when it does not reach the prescribed time (t), whether an output from the pyroelectric sensor 6 exists or not is decided again. When the prescribed time (t) elapses, it is decided that a person does not exist in the toilet room, the stool cover 3 is closed by driving the driving motor 11 in the opening direction. Thus, the device can be constituted so that the stool cover 3 is not closed in the course of use.
