To eliminate an error due to collimation for largely improving accuracy and efficiency in surveying operation.
The method includes a camera 2 attached to an eyepiece of a microscope of a surveying instrument, a concentric circle 5A provided on a target 5 of a target point and an image processing means 3A for displaying the concentric circle 5A recorded by the camera on a monitor screen. The surveying instrument is approximately collimated with respect to the target 5 so that the concentric circle 5A is in the monitor screen, horizontal and vertical deviation H, V between a center point position T0 of the concentric circle 5A and a center point position C0 of the camera is calculated, and the deviation is added to a horizontal angle (αH) and a vertical angle (αV) obtained by the approximate collimation as angular deviation (βH, V), thereby obtaining the horizontal angle and the vertical angle of the target point.
