PURPOSE: To reduce the burden of the operator and switch accurately a file, by generating a file preliminarily and switching it automatically as a file, which is used in he normal operation, at a data change time.
CONSTITUTION: If contents of a current file subject F11 are changed, a new file is generated in a stand-by file subject F12 preliminarily, and the use start data is written to perform the preparing work for file switching. Thereafter, the date changing processing is performed periodically every day at the date change time in the normal operation, and a file switching program out of a series of programs is started. When a date change day comes, stand-by file information of a logical file LF is retrieved to find the file LF12 where the use start date is a designated date, and information of the file LF12 and information of the corresponding current file LF11 are exchanged. Then, when the normal operation of the designated date is started, the new file F12 generated in the stand-by file is used automatically.
