PURPOSE: To facilitate production changeover from simultaneous processing of multi-type works to simultaneous processing of single-type works and vice versa by applying different pitches for the arrangement of processing machines and the transfer of works, so that a particular machine always exectutes the same type of works.
CONSTITUTION: When the distance between adjacent works is P, the distance between adjacent machines is (n-1) P, and the transfer pitch of works for carrying cars is n×p each machine must be regarded as the same type of works. For instance, if the robots A, B and C are arranged with a pitch 2p, the different type of works a, b and c are arranged with a pitch p and the works are transferred with a pitch 3p, each robot executes a single type of works different from other robots, and in the course of transfer, all works will be processed as required.
