PURPOSE: To miniaturize a device by providing a control circuit unit for opening or closing a solenoid valve based on the output signal of an object sensor set on the surface of a water discharging pipe, and by providing a switch for switching the working of a valve to an automatic operation mode or a manual operation mode.

CONSTITUTION: A lever 6 is operated, and a valve 7 is opened, and a mode change-over switch 13 is turned ON, and an automatic operation mode is set. After that, when a user place his hands below the water discharging port 3, it is detected by an object sensor 12, and by the response of a control circuit device 10, a solenoid valve 9 is opened, and water or hot water is automatically discharged from the water discharging port 3. When the hands are removed from under the water discharging port 3, by the response of the device 10, the solenoid valve 9 is closed, and water is automatically stopped. Also, when the switch 13 is tuned OFF, a manual operation mode is set, and only by the manual operation of the lever 6, the valve 7 is opened or closed.
