Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic teller machine which strengthens security for a medium that a customer forgets to take out.SOLUTION: The automatic teller machine includes: a customer detection part 26 for detecting the presence of a customer; and a control part 10 which takes in a medium that is inserted by the customer, and controls transaction processing by reading information stored on the taken-in medium. If a required input operation is not executed even after the lapse of a fixed time from start of the transaction processing, the control part determines time-out and stops the transaction processing but, only when the customer is detected by the customer detection part, performs control to eject the inserted medium. If it is determined by the customer detection part that the customer is not present, even before the lapse of the fixed time from the start of the transaction processing, the control part stops the transaction processing in the state where the medium is taken in.
