Abstract:
Provided is a technique for more reliably preventing unauthorized reading of data from a magnetic card (41). Provided is an automated transaction device (11) comprising: a card insertion opening (30) into which the magnetic card (41) is inserted; a pair of conveying rollers (36) which convey the magnetic card (41) which has been inserted through the card insertion opening (30); a pair of magnetic heads (40) which read data from the magnetic card (41) conveyed by the pair of conveying rollers (36); and a control unit (28) which, during a card intake operation, controls the pair of conveying rollers (36) in such a way that when the magnetic card (41) reaches a target position the magnetic card (41) exhibits a prescribed first motion, and which, during a card ejecting operation, controls the pair of conveying rollers (36) in such a way that when the magnetic card (41) reaches the same position as the target position the magnetic card (41) exhibits a prescribed second motion.
