PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of squeezing through the periphery of a hole, reversion and twisting by engaging a tip of a foil yarn with a chuck port of a moving unit performing a piston motion on a prescribed track and making the residual foil yarn in a state thereof housed in a gap of the moving unit perform a reciprocating motion.
CONSTITUTION: A tip of a foil yarn 3 is inserted and passed through a hole 22 and the tip of the foil yarn 3 is detected to close a chuck port 22 of an electromagnetic slide with a photoelectric type switch 26 and engage the foil yarn 3. A moving unit 12 housing the residual foil yarn 3 in a slender gap 24 is then supported on a guide 11 of a piston power application mechanism 5 so as to freely emerge and sink. When protrusion of a prescribed length is completed by the moving unit 12 under actions of the piston power application mechanism 5, the chuck port 22 is opened by a photoelectric type switch 28 on the other end side of a transfer region. Since the foil yarn 3 remains in an intact state of the tip thereof held with a chuck mechanism 29 and held down with the undersurface of the moving unit 12 in the place, squeezing through the periphery of a hole, reversion and twisting are not caused.
