This automatic transmission is provided with an input shaft 11, a first output shaft 12, a second output shaft 14, a sub-shaft 13, a power transmission gear train 20 for transmitting power to the respective shafts, a second speed gear train 22 and a sixth speed gear train 26 arranged across the input shaft 11 and the first output shaft 12, a first clutch 51 connecting the input shaft 11 with the second speed gear train 22 and the sixth speed gear train 26 at the time of fastening, a second/retreating-sixth speed synchronizing device 62 for connecting the second speed gear train 22 or the sixth speed gear train 26 with the first output shaft 12, a first speed gear train 21 and a fifth speed acceleration gear train 25 arranged across the sub-shaft 13 and the second output shaft 14, a third clutch 53 connecting the sub-shaft 13 with the first speed gear train 21 and the fifth speed gear train 25 at the time of fastening, and a first-fifth speed synchronizing device 63 for connecting the first speed gear train 21 or the fifth speed gear train 25 with the second output shaft 14.
