Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission capable of appropriately actuating first and second clutches and a connection/disconnection device while a vehicle stops, thereby preventing vibration and improving merchantability, and capable of ensuring excellent startability of the vehicle.SOLUTION: An automatic transmission includes: first and second gear mechanisms for transmitting power of a motor to drive wheels by gear shifting; and first and second clutches for connecting/disconnecting the motor to/from the first and second gear mechanisms by being engaged/disengaged with/from each other. When a shift position is switched to a forward position, first and second connection operations are executed to connect the first and second gear mechanisms to the drive wheels to transmit the power to the drive wheels; and when both of the first and second connection operations are completed if the shift position is switched to the forward position and it is determined that a driver does not issue a request to start a vehicle, it is permitted to engage the first and second clutches (Step 30).
