Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transport system including an unmanned running car capable of towing two carriages coupled in series, in which it is possible to uncouple carriages in different positions.
SOLUTION: The unmanned running car 12 with which two carriages 14 and 16 are coupled in series is run along a guide line 102 for running. In a position apart for a certain distance to the right from the guide line 102, an uncoupling member 106 engaged with the side end 36 of a towing mechanism 22 of the unmanned running car 12 for making uncoupling from the carriage 14 and an uncoupling member 108 engaged with the side end 38 of a towing mechanism 28 of the carriage 14 for making uncoupling from the carriage 16 are installed at a certain spacing in the direction along the guide line 102. The guide line 102 is formed so that the part near the installing position of the uncoupling member 108 works as a detour path 102a offset a certain amount to the left relative to the other parts. Thereby the side end 36 of the towing mechanism 22 is prevented from engaging with the uncoupling member 108.
