To provide an automatic winder having a fluff control device surely inserting a spun yarn in an operation position between multiple disks without damaging the spun yarn and surely preventing winding of the yarn to the disk occurring in cutting the yarn.

This automatic winder is provided with an opening/closing means 20 moving and opening/closing a drive shaft 17 out of multiple drive shafts 16, 17, and 18 of the fluff control device 4 to the residual drive shafts 16 and 18, a yarn end guide means 36 guiding the yarn end into the fluff control device 4 by moving the yarn end with its catching, and a control means 50 controlling the movement of the opening/closing of the opening/closing means 20 and the movement of the yarn guide means 36. The control means 50 operates the opening/closing means 20 and the yarn end guide means 36 for every operation of an ending device 5.
