Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic wiper device to remove the pollution with splash on an external surface of a glass by detecting the change in the low frequency component of an image to operate a wiper. SOLUTION: The image of a part of a vehicle is picked up over a windshield 2 from an interior by a TV camera 4, the signal is transmitted to an image processing part 6, the low frequency component in the sampling time of the specified time interval of the data is detected from the signal, the intensity of the low frequency component is stored, the change in the low frequency component is detected by the intensity of the low frequency component in one preceding sampling time, and the intensity of the low frequency component in the succeeding sampling time, the change is compared with the pre-determined threshold, the splash condition is detected, a wiper 5 is automatically driven to remove the pollution on an external surface of the glass caused by the splash.
