Abstract:
PURPOSE: To always photograph good quality pictures by reducing a change in the darkness or the color of a screen caused by a zooming operation while an automatic zooming operation is executed.
CONSTITUTION: In an automatic zooming mode, a diaphragm value and an exposure value are calculated based on a distance to an object, surrounding luminance and a film sensitivity (310). A current zooming position is detected (320) and a corresponding exposure lower limit value is read (330). If the luminance value or the exposure value is lower than the lower limit value, a stroboscopic forcing mode is determined (360), a flag is set or reset. If the luminance value or the exposure value is low, a stroboscopic prohibiting mode is determined (390), and if this mode is not determined, automatic zooming is executed so as to have a wide stage (410). If a strobe is non-charged or a diaphragm value is lower than the lower limit value, an exposure lower limit value is alternatively used as an exposure value (440 and 480). Then, after a second release switch is turned ON, a focus is automatically adjusted, an exposure is decided and photographing is performed.
