To protect adjacent automobiles from mutual collision without any useless increase in car width and without obstructing the traffic by forming a protector of raw material rich in flexibility and elasticity and providing a fitting means to the car body.
A protector 1 is like a thin plate formed of raw material rich in flexibility and elasticity. As raw material rich in flexibility and elasticity, urethane foam is adopted, the main body part of the protector 1 is formed by the urethane foam, and a surface layer such as a polyvinyl chloride sheet or a metal foil sheet which has a higher hardness is stacked on the surface thereof. In use, the protector 1 is fitted to the side of the body of an automobile. The protector is fitted to the body by jointly using locking means 3 which are provided on the upper side of the protector 1 and have a piece locked between a window glass of the automobile and the body and suction cups 2 provided on the back of the protector 1 for the body.
