To achieve strength improvement and downsizing of an automobile bumper structure.
A front stay member 2 is inserted into a through-hole 61a and a through-hole 62a until a flange 21 comes into surface contact with a bumper reinforcement 6 and one end of a middle stay member 4 is inserted and fitted to the outside of a tubular portion 22 of the bumper stay member 2 that protrudes from the through-hole 62a until a section of one end of the middle stay member 4 comes into contact with the bumper reinforcement 6. A rear stay member 3 is inserted and fitted to the inside of another end of the middle stay member 4 until a section of another end of the middle stay member 4 comes into contact with a step of a tubular portion 32 of the rear stay member 3. A magnetic field shaper 72 is disposed so as to face portions of an outer circumferential surface of the middle stay member 4 that respectively overlap the front stay member 2 and the rear stay member 3, and the middle stay member is caulked to the front stay member 2 and the rear stay member 3 by supplying an instantaneous heavy-current to cause electromagnetic contraction of the middle stay member 4.
